Individual virtual consultations for musicians

Get back to the music.

Pain shouldn’t dictate how, or if, you can play your instrument.

Maybe it’s an ache that has followed you through years of practice. Maybe it showed up a few weeks ago and keeps getting worse. Either way, you deserve help from a qualified health professional who understands that music isn’t just what you do. It’s who you are.

In one-on-one sessions, we take a deep dive into your musical history, relevant medical history, current performance demands, practice habits and routines, environmental set up, posture, and more. You walk away with a clear, step-by-step plan for how to safely move forward.

With Amanda Watson, MOT, OTR/L, occupational therapist, ergonomic consultant, percussionist

Sound Familiar?

General advice from well-meaning friends, the internet, and unfortunately, even some medical professionals, can only get you so far. Playing an instrument is a highly technical skill and each instrument requires its own unique challenges.

Most doctors and rehab professionals simply don’t understand the physical demands involved or appreciate how closely tied music is our identity. “Just stop playing for a while” isn’t a practical solution for most musicians.

“Just stop playing for two weeks, take some ibuprofen and you should be fine.” - a doctor

“Just do more stretches and hopefully it will go away.” - a well-meaning friend

“Relax more when you play and make your warm-up longer and more gradual.” - a qualified music instructor
